Match summary: The first ODI have been won by Pakistan quite comfortably by 6 wickets with 11 balls remaining and moved up 1-0 in the 3 match series. Winning the toss Pakistan skipper Misbah Ul Haque invited India to bat first. The weather was cloudy and due to rain in last two days the pitch was under cover and wet. Pakistan fast bowlers had made the perfect use of the condition. They reduced India to 29 for 5 inside 10 overs. From there Shuresh Raina and Dhoni rescued India with a partnership of 73 runs when the latter was dismissed by Mohammad Hafiz. Dhoni then had another partnership with Ashwin taking India to 227 runs. He scored an unbeaten 113 runs of 125 balls. Junaid Khan was most impressive with 4 for 43 at the end of the match. Mohammad Irfan gave perfect support to Junaid taking a wicket for just 15 runs in his opening spell though in the end he ended up giving away 58 runs in his 9 overs. Hafiz also bowled really well taking 1 wicket giving away just 26 runs in his 10 overs.

India team G Gambhir, AM Rahane, V Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, SK Raina, RG Sharma, MS Dhoni*†, B Kumar, R Ashwin, I Sharma, AB Dinda Pakistan team Nasir Jamshed, Ahmed Shehzad, Mohammad Hafeez*, Kamran Akmal†, Umar Akmal, Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi, Sohail Tanvir, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Mohammad Irfan Second match between India and Pakistan is ready to kick start. The first T20 was a learning experience for both the teams. Both teams’strategy was based on taking some risks by introducing young players and using unorthodox planning. Pakistan’s planning worked but India’s different decisions backfired. Leaving behind Ashwin proved a bad decision for Indians. Pakistan has better all rounders in their ranks including Hafeez, Afridi and Malik. So they have an edge over India in the bowling department. Main issue with Pakistan is that their batting is neither predictable nor reliable. The pitch at Ahmadabad is supportive to batsmen. So Pakistan’s advantage as a better bowling team will not work today. They will have to boost up their batting spirits. On the other hand India will surely take advantage of the pitch selection as they have much better batsmen among their ranks.
